Anasazi MImbres Turky Hunter Bowl Replica
This is a replica bowl of a turkey hunter wearing a deer mask. The piece is exquisitely rendered and intricately painted. The now extinct Mimbres culture (circa 200 to 1150 A.D.) is believed to be directly related to the Anasazi. Because of geographic isolation their ceramic art took a divergent tangent that was unique and wonderful. Although this bowl is only a fantastic copy of the original, it has been abraded, scratched, scraped, abused, and stressed in a variety of ways. The surface is not smooth, and the shape is not symmetrical. The bowl has the appearance of an original artifact emerged from the bowels of the earth and distant time. It has been rendered and handcrafted using traditional techniques and then wood fired in an open dirt pit with natural local wood. If you love the raw appearance of artifacts and have a love for archeology, then I believe you will not be disappointed in our rendition replication of "Prehistoric Turkey Hunter."
