Mimbres Fabulous Bug Bowl Replication
This vessel is a fantastic replication of a Mimbres bowl displaying of all things, a bug! Intense fire clouds richly enhance this peace. The design is exquisitely and adeptly rendered. At Starling Black Studio we attempt to make are vessels to appear as actual artifacts. The pieces are all hand built and painted. The surface is abraded, sanded, and stained to create the appearance of aging for several hundred years. It would confound all but the most astute archeologist or dedicated collector as to its origin. The Mimbres culture existed in the Southwest Americas from circa 200 to 1150 AD; now extinct, but an incredible artistic legacy they left to the world depicting an intricately and wonderfully rendered view of the natural world that surrounded them. Although a replication bowl, "Fabulous Bug Bowl" has the features of a prehistoric artifact which should please the archeologist or collector. Thank you for looking.
